Clay Piece - This mini lesson was pretty fun. I didn't really follow the concept of making two pieces and scratching it together. This medium was also pretty messy. I didn't really like it. The clay was difficult because it would get dry quite fast, so you had to keep getting it wet etc. I did scratch the fins and such to get them to stick to the body. I painted it with watercolors. The con of using watercolors is that the brush would get dry too fast and then the color proportions would be messed up. Because of this, you can see the brush strokes on the piece. If I were to do this again, I would change the paint I used. It would be nicer if you could not see the paint strokes. Overall, it was kind of fun. It didn't take long.
Styrogami - I didn't like this mini lesson. I couldn't make anything that really appealed to me. I just did four different expressions, but I only took a picture of one. I learned that styrofoam sticks to everything and it is very annoying. I don't like this medium or style. I rather draw something than do this mini lesson. It just didn't appeal to me. I really don't find this piece successful at all. I wasn't really motivated to come up with something good, so I did faces that remind me of the faces on pumpkins. I would probably change what I did. Maybe, I would have poked a bunch of little holes in the styrofoam to avoid the mess and to create picture.
Object Art - I enjoyed this mini lesson. I created a necklace and the resemblance of breasts with a clover. I then drew a dress and figure around it. I learned that you can really make art out of anything. The only hard part was getting the clover to stay in place while I drew the dress. I find this piece successful because it is unique. The whole drawing is done in pencil, so the green of the clover makes it pop. If I did this again, I would figure out how to get the clover to stay in place better. After I drew the dress it started to move more causing a bit of distress.
