The theme for this project was 'Energy.' I was not here when my table chose this, so I do not know why they chose that. I connected with the theme in a different way than most. When people hear the word energy I believe they think more about science or mechanics. I, on the other hand, think of it to do with the body. Take food for example, without food you don't have energy. Also, food gives the heart energy. If you are in good shape your heart has more energy to do exercise etc.
I used unique ideas with this project. This whole semester I didn't see anyone cross stitch a project. Over Christmas break, I learned how to so I thought I would try it here. Also, the pattern was mostly my idea. I saw some patterns on how to do the heart, but not the way the hearts fill up showing "energy." I used pinterest as a source of inspiration. Like I said earlier, I combined some ideas there with some of my own ideas. I combined the ideas and made my own personal twist! I did get some other inspiration from my friend, Megan. She gave me insight on how many hearts should be blank, etc.
I did ask another student for feedback during this project. Because I was behind on this project, I asked Megan to help me out. She and I put our heads together and really thought about the subject energy. I struggle with eating problems, but a good way to think of food is that it is energy. That's sort of what I thought about with this project. So we connected to the body's main organ and thought about how it uses energy. She also started cross stitching over Christmas break and she gave me the idea to cross stitch the project in the first place! She did help me understand a bit about this project and she also did inspire me. We worked together and created a lovely cross stitch.
